WHY GET CERTIFIED

Did you know that exercise is now officially a part of the standard of cancer in breast cancer treatment? This is due to the tremendous momentum we are experiencing in the field of exercise oncology. In fact, there is so much momentum in this field right now, that we are confident that soon exercise will be a part of the standard of care for all tumor types…and that exercise professionals will be able to bill insurance for their work!

At Maple Tree, we are a part of a consortium of professional organizations and leading researchers, working together to achieve this reality. We fully believe that one day soon, exercise will be a part of the standard of care of cancer treatment, and insurance will cover these services.

When this dream is realized, it will be very important that we have developed an adequate workforce of trained and certified exercise professionals to meet the demand of the influx of patients we will inevitably have.

At Maple Tree, we consider ourselves leaders – not only in ensuring evidence-based, high quality exercise programming, but also in the education of exercise professionals. For the last 10 years, we have offered our Exercise Oncology Instructor (EOI)TM certification internally to all of our exercise trainers as part of their onboarding process. We also offer our EOI certification through Maple Tree University, and in 15 countries, internationally.
