Tip Tuesday coming at you!

Today we are going to talk about Hot Flashes.

● HOT FLASH tip 1: Avoid caffeine which speeds up the heart rate and increases the frequency and intensity of hot flashes. Instead, try green tea! Green tea has a lower caffeine content than coffee or energy drinks and has natural plant compounds that have been shown to help fight cancer.
● HOT FLASH tip 2: Spread you meals out! Eating large meals requires A LOT of work by our gastrointestinal system and is harder to process. The difficulty of digesting this massive amount of food results in a hot flash. Try evenly spreading your meals out across the day and making them smaller (your blood sugar levels will thank you for it too!!)
● HOT FLASH tip 3: Watch your usage of over the counter medications like ibuprofen which often result in an increase in the intensity of a hot flash. If you are in sore then stretch more and increase your water consumption after each workout to help with the removal of lactic acid from the muscle.
● HOT FLASH tip 4: Watch your consumption of processed/sugary foods! These foods are digested very rapidly and result in a hot flash. For more information consult a glycemic index chart. ...
